Indigenous Cultural Competency Training – History, Culture & Current Trends

Updated: Jul 17

The Indigenous History, Culture & Current Trends provides a foundation to understanding the unique relationship existing between Indigenous people and Canadians. This training is intended to promote change within the individual, workplace, organization and community. By providing an overview of Indigenous worldviews, enhancing self-awareness through experiential learning and increasing knowledge of historical contexts, attendees will be able to better understand how to establish healthy relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.

Since 1962 the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto has been a key meeting place for all people, of all nations, from across Canada. As Toronto’s oldest Indigenous community organization and one of the original Friendship Centres in Canada, the NCCT provides social, recreational, cultural and spiritual services for the Indigenous community and visitors alike. The Native Canadian Centre of Toronto has provided Indigenous Cultural Competency Training to over 2000 participants since 2017.
